Isn't she just darling?!

This was the hotel we stayed at. There's a wall in the way of the bottom part but the top is supposed to look like the New York Skyline! It's actually all one building! And if you can see towards the top of the wall right there, there's some people at the top of the roller coaster.

On Saturday we went looking for pawn shops! We didn't have much luck until we ran into this cool place!

And that night, we went to an Airforce graduation/banquet for our brother-in-law. Although I'm not into that kind of stuff, it was very interesting and inspiring. We are so very proud of him :)

Leaving.

The first night, we went out with Brandon's sister and her husband as well as some of their friends. We walked around for a bit, site-seeing, and then ended up at a club and danced the night away.

The second night we were in Las Vegas, we went to the banquet and then took our turn watching all the kids! 5 total! I think I enjoyed it more than Brandon, tehehe. It was fun being a mom to 5 kids for the night. A lot of work but fun! Maybe we'll have 5 kids in the future?? :)

And our last night in Las Vegas, we went to Cirque de Soleil (Ka) and it was AMAZING. Seriously, the best show I've seen in my entire life and I don't think anything else will top it. So good. Then Brandon and I wondered around the streets of Las Vegas just kind of seeing everything. We walked all the way down to the Bellagio in hopes of seeing the fountain but when we got there, we found out it stopped running at midnight! Total bummer but I'm kind of a pro at walking in heels now. I guess Vegas will do that to ya.

So ya, it was a good time. Not anything too crazy but we enjoyed getting out of Texas for a while and seeing our family. Las Vegas is a cool place, lots different from Houston and definitely a fun place to explore.

When we flew back, my sister picked us up and we drove straight to Austin to catch a graduation party! Now that's when things started getting crazy. But I'll elaborate more on that later. Have a good weekend everyone!

P.S.

This is the last call for questions! Do you have any questions for me? I don't think I'm going to do a vlog because I didn't get nearly enough questions but I would still like to answer the ones I did get! So if there's any thing you'd like to ask/know about me, ask now or forever hold your..... ask! Thanks ;)

Las Vegas: Part 1

Alright, so starting the day we took off! Here are some instagrams.

One of the best parts about flying was being able to see the GORGEOUS landscape from above. I have absolutely no desire to live in a desert (I like my water!) but it was so pretty. With the mountains all different colors and the body of water we ran into, it was just awesome. It made me miss traveling. A lot. And want to move out of where we are.... but that's not something new.
IMG_3712 IMG_3683
We had a really pretty hotel. And this little lady is Eliza's cousin, Payton! Can you see the resemblance? The two of them look so much a like, it's crazy. Forget that Eliza ever came out of me! (: Payton used to live super close to us but then they moved halfway across the country. They still get a long and play like sisters. Except now that Eliza is old enough, they're like partners in crime, running around and getting in trouble! I can't even imagine what's going to happen when they get older!! But it was so fun to see them getting a long. Like the sisters they never had.
IMG_3704 copy IMG_3705 IMG_3707
And this was the view from our hotel room. We got a front row view of the roller coaster! We stayed at the New York New York which has a roller coaster running around it. Which by the way kind of sucked. I wouldn't recommend spending $14 to ride the dang thing, just btw.
IMG_3718 IMG_3723
And then we walked around the hotel a bit before the kids had to hit the hay. That's Eliza's other cousin.
IMG_3731

I did enjoy site seeing and what not but the best part was seeing our family. Brandon's family is spread out all over the U.S. so seeing them is kind of difficult. It was especially special because we got to spend some time with a new baby niece we've never even met before! And, helllooooo baby fever! I love babies. Hmph.

Seeing all the pretty landscape made me really want a change of scenery. Don't get me wrong, I love our tiny, one bedroom apartment and that we live close to our family but I really don't like our location. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but it's something I think about a lot. Since Brandon got promoted a little while ago, we had to agree to stay for another 2 years. We needed the money and we also need to finish school before we decide to move so we had to take it. I just have to be patient I suppose. It's just so hard. Being patient. When all I want to do is get ouutttta herrrrre. Oh well. This gives us time to save up some money, finish school, and decide where we wanna go from here.... Right?! So dreaming is all I can do for now. And boy, am I getting some crazy ideas! ;)

Anyways, stay tuned for part 2!

Girlish Garb: Vegas Baby!

Ok, this is the only outfit post I managed to fit in while in Las Vegas but it's a good one! We were going to a shmancy airforce banquet (I think I said "navy" on instagram... woops?) and we had a few minutes before to snap some pictures of our outfits. Oh, and beware of the photo overload here, I had some trouble deleting a few ;)

Las Vegas was so much fun. It's very different from Houston, let me tell ya! Everything is just so.... magical? And trashy at the same time? All the buildings are fantastic, there are drunk people everywhere at any time, cheap/bad food, gambling, drinking from the moment you wake up, and lots of sun! There's always something to do and somewhere to go. You don't have to look hard for entertainment. My favorite parts were going to see Cirque de Soleil and going to an oxygen bar (soooo good). I'll share some more actual pictures once I have time to go through them all! We did some drinking but not anything crazy. Mostly, we were there visiting with family which was really so good. It was awesome to see Eliza playing/hanging out with her cousins. They all got along so well. And we got a night to babysit/enjoy our newest little niece, Charley. If you follow me on instagram, you got a little peak of that. I had some serious baby fever going on! Speaking of fever, Eliza came down with a fever half way through which was a bummer. But I think she still enjoyed it. She was especially excited about her first time on a plane, which was quite an event! I'll go into more details later though. Hope everyone else had a great weekend. I can't believe it's Wednesday already. I kinda missed half of the week? Because it totally feels like Monday....

Mingle Monday: Diary of This Girl

I'm finally back from vacation! I'll tell you guys all about it tomorrow. But for now, here's a little Mingle Monday, a day late! So please welcome Megan from Diary of This girl!

1. What got you into blogging and how long have you been at it? I started blogging this past
October, and must say – I am in love. I started my blog because of my passion for writing. I
wanted to keep track of things I have done, various crafts I have made, and the emotions I have
experienced in my post-college life. It has proven to be a great way of keeping in touch with my
now scattered friend group.
2. What does blogging mean to you? Business or pleasure? Purely pleasure for me! I am afraid if it
began to feel too business-like, I would stop doing it.
388203_677239020693_28205957_34846017_528188257_n
3. What do you mostly blog about? My blog posts are fairly eclectic. I use my blog as a means
of expressing myself – whether through fashion, honest writing, or inspiration I have found
elsewhere. I also love sharing ridiculous stories about my little dachshund, Bailey!
4. What do you do besides blogging? What’s a normal day like in the life of Megan? Life is pretty
normal – or so I think! I currently work as a nanny. I hold the cutest babies, change diapers, wipe
noses, and chase around an energetic three-year-old. On weekends, I like to spend time with the
girlfriends or visit my family. I also do a fair amount of napping because – let’s be honest – the
babies are exhausting! I eat a lot of junk food, and try to combat the junk by going on walks or
to the gym. Being healthy is a major goal of mine (that I fail at it on a daily basis). I am an avid
reader and am addicted to the new ABC show, Revenge. SD 822
5. Do you plan out your posts or just kind of wing it? Strict schedule blogger or go with the flow
blogger? I mainly wing it, to be honest! There are times where I am running, driving, or reading
other blog posts and think of something I would like to blog about. I might find a quote that
inspires a particular post, a craft I recently did, or a new outfit I want to share. In regards to how
frequently I post, I used to stick to a blogging schedule (every day in the morning). Life has been
fairly chaotic lately, so there are days where I am just too tired to post. Or don’t bathe and wear
sweats – not exactly blog-worthy. However, I try to post five or so times each week. photo (2)
6. Are you a daytime or night owl blogger? Definitely a day time blogger I am an old woman at
heart, and usually work early in the morning, so I fail at staying up late!
7. Name a few of your favorite blogs and why? I am a huge fan of this lovely host, Sam at
My Latest Obsession. She is incredibly sweet and genuine. I love her clothes, crafts, and
hearing about her and her adorable little family! Katie, at Katie Did It, is another one of my
favorites. Recently engaged, she has the most unique style! I want her closet, thank you, Katie!
Whispering Sweet Nothings, written by Shane, is both honest and inspiring. She posts about her
college experience, volunteer work, and family life. I could go on and on about these ladies and
others! I am somewhat of a blog reading addict.

Thanks so much Megan, you are too sweet ;)

Well folks, I'll be back tomorrow with the scoop on.... what happened in Vegas! Until then, this girl's got some recuperating to do! Ta-ta!

Camisole: .... I don't remember?
Belt: Thrifted
Skirt: Thrifted (it was originally for the store but I just couldn't let it go!)

blogged blogged

It was particularly hot out this day so I threw on a simple tank top and maxi skirt. And of course, I always have to throw a belt on too. Annnnd, this may or may not be the second time wearing this exact same outfit...... it also, may or may not be the last time either! You can't really see it but the tank is like an oatmeal color, it's quickly becoming a favorite. However, I've been having a difficult time finding it because it's always in the dirty laundry!!!

Well guys, I hope you have a great rest of the week/weekend. Hopefully in Las Vegas, I get to work on my tan a bit..... Lookin' a little pasty, don't cha think?
