I may or may not be a week behind... forgive me. This is actually the weekend before last but I'm in denial so I'm just going to say it was last weekend. It's cool, right?
So the weekend started off with getting my 50 mm lens! (Seriously, it came on Friday and that's the first thing I did after work)..... btw, excuse my belly button.
(I secretly think my brother hops in pictures just so he can be on my blog)
On Saturday, we rushed downtown last minute to see Dr. Dog play at a record store (freeee!!). That was cool.
(sorry, these were the best pictures I could get)
My sister was in for the weekend so we all went out for mexican and then came back to my place for some good ol' fashion Super Mario Bros! It was like the good old days! Hangin' out with my brother and sister, playing mario....except now it's a drinking game ;)
Sunday, my mother and older sister came down to have a girl's day! My sister wanted a dye job so we stripped the original color out and we almost had the same color!
Ignore the fact that we're not wearing makeup... thanks.
It was rainy but felt so good.
The AMAZING salad my mom made, she's a salad-pro guys. It had strawberries, candied walnuts, and a mix of poppy seed and raspberry vinaigrette dressing. YUM.
Then, we managed to get some thrifting in and my sister bought me these adorable plates as an early birthday present! Yay for getting rid of our old plastic ones! Now I just need to work on getting some nice bowls?
We all got a mug so we could come home and do a little crafting with ceramic paint pens!
Can you tell this one's mine? (: I was pretty satisfied. BEST weekend ever. Just a good, chill time.
I was getting tired of manually entering all my info at the end of emails so I made myself a signature! Ever since I emailed the sweet gal over at Delightfully Tacky and saw hers, I've been wanting to create one of my own. So I thought I would share in case some of you guys are interested.
This video was super helpful. I made an image (you'll have to email me to see it!) that was 317 x 115 pixels, uploaded it to Tiny Pic, entered it into the signature section and then created some links below for my blog and store websites. Pretty nifty!
I'm sure you all have seen this before! I was getting tired of ugly plastic soap dispensers and wanted something a little more... natural looking? And not plastic! So I made a soap dispenser out of a jar.
For christmas, my AWESOME dad got me all these cool power tools and accessories! Every girl's dream, right?! I was over the hill excited and this may have been my first project (yes, it's that old).
So I got a jar, some soap (which I will be using the top of), and my handy-dandy drill and went to work!
I started out by drilling a hole in the middle of the lid with the largest bit I had. But this wasn't big enough for the soap top so I grabbed some scissors and made the hole just big enough for the soap thing to slip through.
Fits!
You can also glue it all up to seal it buttt I got lazy and decided I didn't need it.
A few weeks ago, Brandon's Dad called us up and invited us to the rodeo! (Yes, we live in texas). We weren't planning on going but decided what the heck! It was an overcast day but the temperature was perfect. I'm so glad I decided to bring my camera along, I can't wait to come back and show Eliza all of these when she gets older (:
Ha! She totally looks like a troll doll! This is her "cheese"face.
These goofs (brother and brandon), I swear when they are together it's like I have 3 children. I can't take them grocery shopping because they play football in the aisles and chase each other all around the store!
And see that belt buckle? Brandon got that at a liquor store! I think it actually came with the first bottle of tequila he bought? Anyways, brother insisted on wearing it.
Eliza demanded we go on the Ferris Wheel first thing. That may or may not have been due to a certain mommy talking it up the whole the way there ;)
Then she batted those cute little eyes and got her Grand-dad to buy her some popcorn... we all had a little bite.
Then I took her on her first real "roller coaster" type ride. She liked some parts and others she.... didn't? But overall I think it was a hit.
(this one cracks me up!)
After a while, we ventured inside to see some animals and Eliza got a pony ride!
And here's the only picture I managed to get of Eliza and her Grand-dad.... woops!
It was pretty fun except for the ending. We had to go see the performer which was Blake Shelton? Apparently he's a judge on "The Voice"? I don't know and I'm sorry if you're a country fan but I absolutely hate country. I don't know what it is, I just don't like it. So that was not so great but I was a good sport.
Speaking of country! Man do Texans like to get dressed up for the rodeo! I have never seen so many cowboy boots and cowboy hats in my life. I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised, I mean we do live in Texas after all. Sometimes I just forget that's what we're "known for". We're just a bunch of horse ridin', cowboy boots wearin', hicks! Right?! Ya'll?! ....For your information, I don't even own cowboy boots... or even a dang hat. Although I'm not much of a hat person to begin with... But the point is, I'm probably the opposite of a hick. And sometimes, Texas stereotypes are annoying. One time a New Yorker seriously asked me if I road a horse to school. Really man? So don't do that, please.
Well, enough ranting. Today was a pretty good day! I got started on building a new set for shop photoshoots which I am really excited about and can't wait to share! Also, have you entered in the summer giveaway?! Summer's almost here, you wouldn't want to miss out!
