Look at that ogre of a guy! Scary.... also, I had my eye on this long haired dude below. I wonder how many times those locks get yanked on??? But doesn't he have the prettiest head of hair you've ever seen on a guy?

We all went to Austin to visit my sister and went bowling! That was pretty fun. I thought it was funny watching everyone's different "bowling techniques"

and I put Brandon last so as not to put everyone to shame, look at that perfect form?! he's good at sports...
IMG_7673
Eliza couldn't bowl so she sat back and enjoyed a bowl of popcorn. yummm

We also went night fishing! That was an... experience. We had to do some off-roading and my brother drove so that was.... terrifying to say the least. Luckily, we did not get stuck in the sand. We ended up getting there around midnight and boy was it cold! It sure didn't help that the wind was going 30 mph, pure craziness.

We made a fire and even attempted to fly a kite (which was a major fail).

No one caught anything though. And I ended up retiring to the car around 2-ish (yes, in the morning).

My favorite part of the month though was going to Austin. I'll do a full post on that later. How was your February? I can't believe it's over already, time sure does fly!

11 Things

I've been tagged! Thanks to Breezy from Breezy Simple. I thought it would be kind of fun however, I don't think I'm going to tag anyone else. BUT if you're interested in participating, consider yourself tagged!

11 Random Things
1. I collect key chains from different places, I bet I have 50+
2. I like to dance, although I'm not the greatest
3. I'm very non-confrontational
4. I'm not a pet person
5. However, I used to have a snake named Willy Shmee Von Lichtenstein! I had to give him away when I got pregnant though
6. I have an obsession with Johnny Depp. I own most of his movies, some you're probably never heard of.
7. Kind of related to Johnny Depp, I like anything with a pirate ship on it!
8. My dream is to move to Austin, TX.
9. Besides my online friends, the only other friends I have are mostly from high school and live nowhere near us. The reason for that is that I don't really get out much here, I don't have time to make friends, and the people here are kind of snotty and have nothing in common with me. But the friends we do have are friends we will have for the rest of our lives and are really special to us.
10. While Eliza was in my tummy, we were an actress, won an award for costume designing, and directed a show! Basically, she was born into theatre. And hopefully will make her way back when she reaches junior high/high school.
11. I don't remember how I came across Etsy but it was probably the single most important discovery I've ever made. Seriously, life changing!

My Questions

1. Who is your blog "idol"?
Hmm, I have a two. I kind of see them as being on opposite spectrums of the blogosphere, and I am somewhere in the middle? They are both special to me but in different ways.
My first is Elsie from A Beautiful Mess because of what she has created with her blog! I admire her so much because she has an awesome personality, impeccable style, she is so creative, and has accomplished so many amazing things. Someday I hope to be as awesome as her.
And my other idol is Bekah from My Little Loves. While I try to be creative and reach above and beyond, reading Bekah's blog always reminds me to enjoy the little things, and kind of pulls me back down to earth. As a fellow mother, she is so inspiring with her ability to keep things simple, her family relationship, and just her outlook on life. She is amazing.

2. What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
Hmm, well I have a new obsession with the boots you saw in my last Girlish Garb (and others like them). I don't like to dress too girly and these boots are the perfect masculine edge for my feminine outfits!
3. What is a trend you can't stand?
FEATHERS IN THE HAIR. You know the ones I'm talking about. I hate them.
4. Total number of kids you want?
Hmm, three... or five. It kind of depends where we end up. If we can get a house on some land, I would be more than happy with 5 kids but it just kind of depends on our situation in the coming years.
5. What is something that you love about the way you look?
I love my freckles. When I was a pre-teen, I really didn't like them. I wanted to look like everyone else and tried to cover them up. But it was pretty much impossible. I came to peace with them and now love them BECAUSE they make me look different.
6. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Living in austin, hopefully with a house of our own and a booming business (possibly a brick and mortar shop?).
7. Favorite Flower?
OOoooh, I don't know. I'm not really a flower girl but if I had to choose it would probably be a chrysanthemum.
8. Favorite Pandora station?
Dr. Dog or Devendra Banhart
9. What was your first car?
A little white toyota truck, manual! It was a great little car but got totaled when I was preggo (not my fault!).
10. What did you last eat?
Frosted flakes, because I was too lazy to make a smoothie for breakfast.
11. How has blogging effected your life?
Blogging is one of the greatest things in my life right now. It keeps me sane from having to go to school and run my business and take care of my family. It also gives me a sense of purpose, that someday this will all pay off. And I love the people I have met and the bloggers that give me daily inspiration. Since part of what I do is based on creativity, I really depend on being inspired all the time to get through work. I love the blogging world and am so, so glad I have the chance to be a part of it.

Girlish Garb: Pink & Polka Dots

Girlish Garb
These, ladies and gentlemen, are my new shoes! And I love them. I've seriously been wearing them every chance I get! Also, this is now my go-to hair style for second-day hair. I haven't been able to wear my hair up for so long and I still have to put in a million clips to keep it all up but hey, it works!

For the next few days, when I get a chance, I'm going to try and fit in two posts a day. Like I said before, I have some serious catching up to do!

Also, some exciting news! I've almost reached 100 followers (via Google Friend Connect)! Kind of a big milestone for me (:

Speaking of followers, anybody have good tips for tracking readers? Like statistics and what not? Let me knowwww

Hopefully since I've gotten a new camera remote, I will take my next outfit pictures somewhere besides my studio! We'll see (:

DIY: Drawer Jewelry Rack

Remember when I made this drawer necklace holder? Ya, well I decided I needed more than two things to hang my necklaces so I switched those 2 knobs out for a rack of hooks! It can hold all of my necklaces now instead of just a couple, yippeee.

All I did was take out the knobs

***Warning: Long Detailed Description of My Day***

So, about my day. Thinking back on it, it probably wasn't as crazy as I thought it was at the time. Perhaps it was just that Eliza was being a terror and making every little thing seem crazy... even though it wasn't. We started out by rushing out the door to get Eliza to the doctor. We make it and she's behaving pretty well.

From there I decide we needed to eat lunch. So we went to the McDonald's drive through (don't judge) but before we ate, I wanted to stop at Walgreens to get some disinfecting wipes (doctor's office=gerrrrms). I also had to get a car charger because my phone was dying. So we ran in but Eliza started being crazy and grabbing at everything. She does this thing now (if you have kids, you know what I'm talking about), whenever I try to hold her hand she just goes completely limp and falls to the floor until she has the chance to get up and run away. It's funny... sometimes but such a pain. And then when I try to pick her up she's like a little wiggly worm and makes it impossible to hold her.

So there I am, trying to check out with disinfecting wipes and a car charger in one hand, worm baby in the other. Fine, I pay and we make it back to the car. Then it's to the bank. We had some trouble at the bank and it ended up having to be there for like 30 minutes. Eliza is running around the whole dang place and every time I try to constrain her, she just liquifies in my arm. Finally I just have to let her throw her fit on the floor so I can concentrate on getting out of there. Fuuun. As soon as we start driving again, she falls asleep. Phew!

We drive to the car dealership which is about 45 minutes away, peace and quiet. But as soon as we stop and I call her name, she starts screaming and bawling. She has NEVER done that before. Greeeat. I calm her down and we go inside to find a man about paying for my car. We end up in this guys office and Eliza decides she wants to hide under his desk. That's ok, but after a while she gets too close to his feet so I pull her up. And of course, she starts screaming and flailing around. The poor guy I was working with tried to give her some paper and a pen to draw with and she threw the pen across the room! I pretty much give up at that point and let her melt back to the floor.

THEN I bribe her with hot chocolate (they had a machine dealy) and all the sudden she's an angel. She finds the guys pen, draws him a pretty picture and let's me finish up my paperwork. I don't know what happened but she completely flipped. We played in the cars in the showroom of the dealership, got hot cocoa, and went home where I proceeded to collapse on my bed.

Keeping up with that girl all morning was exhausting! After that, we went for a walk because it was so nice outside and then had a yummy, ham dinner. Eliza went to bed early and Brandon and I watched an episode of Twin Peaks. I don't really know how I'm up this late because I am draaaained. I can't wait till  Mother's Day Out tomorrow and I can have a chance to actually get some stuff done! Kids. *deep exhale*

I've had these all stored away in a "draft" blog post waiting until the day I get to do them all.... but they're too pretty to keep hidden so I decided to share (: Someday I will get to all of them. It just might be a while...
