DIY: Drawer Jewelry Rack

Remember when I made this drawer necklace holder? Ya, well I decided I needed more than two things to hang my necklaces so I switched those 2 knobs out for a rack of hooks! It can hold all of my necklaces now instead of just a couple, yippeee.

All I did was take out the knobs

And attached these hooks with some picture hanging strips.

***Warning: Long Detailed Description of My Day***

So, about my day. Thinking back on it, it probably wasn't as crazy as I thought it was at the time. Perhaps it was just that Eliza was being a terror and making every little thing seem crazy... even though it wasn't. We started out by rushing out the door to get Eliza to the doctor. We make it and she's behaving pretty well.

From there I decide we needed to eat lunch. So we went to the McDonald's drive through (don't judge) but before we ate, I wanted to stop at Walgreens to get some disinfecting wipes (doctor's office=gerrrrms). I also had to get a car charger because my phone was dying. So we ran in but Eliza started being crazy and grabbing at everything. She does this thing now (if you have kids, you know what I'm talking about), whenever I try to hold her hand she just goes completely limp and falls to the floor until she has the chance to get up and run away. It's funny... sometimes but such a pain. And then when I try to pick her up she's like a little wiggly worm and makes it impossible to hold her.

So there I am, trying to check out with disinfecting wipes and a car charger in one hand, worm baby in the other. Fine, I pay and we make it back to the car. Then it's to the bank. We had some trouble at the bank and it ended up having to be there for like 30 minutes. Eliza is running around the whole dang place and every time I try to constrain her, she just liquifies in my arm. Finally I just have to let her throw her fit on the floor so I can concentrate on getting out of there. Fuuun. As soon as we start driving again, she falls asleep. Phew!

We drive to the car dealership which is about 45 minutes away, peace and quiet. But as soon as we stop and I call her name, she starts screaming and bawling. She has NEVER done that before. Greeeat. I calm her down and we go inside to find a man about paying for my car. We end up in this guys office and Eliza decides she wants to hide under his desk. That's ok, but after a while she gets too close to his feet so I pull her up. And of course, she starts screaming and flailing around. The poor guy I was working with tried to give her some paper and a pen to draw with and she threw the pen across the room! I pretty much give up at that point and let her melt back to the floor.

THEN I bribe her with hot chocolate (they had a machine dealy) and all the sudden she's an angel. She finds the guys pen, draws him a pretty picture and let's me finish up my paperwork. I don't know what happened but she completely flipped. We played in the cars in the showroom of the dealership, got hot cocoa, and went home where I proceeded to collapse on my bed.

Keeping up with that girl all morning was exhausting! After that, we went for a walk because it was so nice outside and then had a yummy, ham dinner. Eliza went to bed early and Brandon and I watched an episode of Twin Peaks. I don't really know how I'm up this late because I am draaaained. I can't wait till  Mother's Day Out tomorrow and I can have a chance to actually get some stuff done! Kids. *deep exhale*

DIY: A little t-shirt makeover

I have had this large grey shirt laying around forevverrrr. It's hard to describe but the grey isn't a solid grey, it's like a blend of multiple shades of grey.... if that makes since. The name escapes me right now but I know there is one for it..... Anyways, I like whatever kind of coloring that is so I bought it planning to do something with it. And then I didn't. Until I dug it up the other day and decided to make a crop top! It's pretty simple, here's what I did.

IMG_6251
I used a crop top I already had for a template. (pardon the crap all over my floor)

IMG_6265
It was a bit too loose so I took it in along the sides and sleeves about a half an inch. Pretty simple.

IMG_6253
Then I decided to add a pretty pocket for some flair!

IMG_6254
I folded down the top and sewed that.

IMG_6259
Then, I ironed down the rest of the sides.

IMG_6260
I then pinned it in place (just the front, make sure not to get the back!!!)

IMG_6263
And sewed that baby down! I'll have to do an outfit post soon to share, it came out really cute.

Also, I wanted to share these pictures I took of some waffles Brandon made! They were Apple Wholewheat Kirby Lane pancakes with Reese's peanut butter chips, yum! He also put whip cream on top and a dollop of peach preserves on the side. Oh, that boy... And for those of you that don't know, Kirby Lane is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin, TX. They sell their delicious pancake mix at HEB, I highly recommend them!

Tomorrow (or technically today) is Monday. Not sure I'm ready but it's comin' no matter what, right? I've got a long to-do list and am already starting to get stressed out. Oi.

I tried to make a gif with some dancing pictures I took but it didn't work :( Whatev.

Also, I think I'm dying my hair dark brown today? I had the chance to clean my apartment while Eliza was out of the house. And let me tell you! It is so much easier to clean with out a two year old following me around and wrecking everything! So I took some house pictures and will be doing a home tour pretty soon. I'm pretty excited about that (: Well, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my Sunday! The weather is gorgeous here and for the first time I don't have a million things to do, woop woop!

DIY: Glam Glasses

short little late night post ;)

DIY glam glasses.
IMG_5831

IMG_5818
You will need, mod podge, glitter, and some glasses from the thrift store with the little metal things missing.

IMG_5823
Fill hole with mod podge.

IMG_5829
Coat with glitter. Let dry.

IMG_5832
Coat another time with mod podge.

IMG_5825
And add some more glitter. Let dry and remove glitter around edges. Glam glasses!

I'm not really a bling-y person, but this was the perfect glittery touch to spruce up some boring glasses!

My day has been quite a whirlwind. Last night, I went night fishing (more on that another time). And we didn't get home until 5 in the morning. Then at 10:30 Brandon and I drug ourselves out of bed to go car shopping with my dad. We drove around Houston ALL day from dealership to dealership hunting down cars. During this time I had about 5 cups of free (and delicious coffee) dealership coffee. So we searched until we found the perfect car annnnd we did! We bought that sucker and then drove it home around 8-ish (more on that another time too). Then I came home and ALL THE SUDDEN all that coffee kicked in and I started to get the jitters. Weird weird feeling. So then I sat down to write a paper and was just completely overwhelmed. BLEH. I hate papers. After about  3 hours I finally finished it and am sooo relieved that's over with. Still have the jitters though..... I don't think I'll be sleeping for a while. Maybe I'll clean?!!! Haaa, hope you guys are enjoying your weekend. Tomorrow will be the first Sunday not spent entirely on homework and I'm kind of excited. I get Eliza back tomorrow, I miss her. We're going to go on an adventure (:
