Moss Grafiti

I spotted this over at Pretty Much Art and thought it was amazing!

Here is how you do it:

In your blender, combine:

* One can of cheap beer or 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
* A few handfuls of moss
* One teaspoon of sugar.

Blend until the mixture is smooth, and you’re ready to get painting!

You can use a brush to paint your moss onto concrete walls, rocks, or brick. Mist the moss once a day to help it thrive, and soon your green graffiti will take hold! If you’re looking to take this project to the streets, use caution- we don’t want to be responsible for any vandalism charges!

Is this the coolest idea or what? I need a house so I can vandalize it with moss!!!!!

In other news, I got a lookbook! So you can also see this outfit, here.
Outfit Details:
Dress- Thrifted (in store soon)
Shoes- Target (just got them!)
Necklace- DIY
A note about the necklace, I think I'm going to start a necklace line. The necklace I'm wearing here is actually one I made to sell. I'll let you know when I put them up but I'm very excited! I have an obsession with necklaces so it's fun to design my own. And I think I'm going to "upcycle" necklaces too! Look at me, branching out! Yay.

DIY Fabric Hook Rack... Thing

I'm a horrible blogger, I know! I've been crazy busy trying to get caught up with work, plus getting ready for fall and all these new things that I'm doing. It's hectic, to say the least! But I'm having a lot of fun, and will show you guys everything when I'm complete. Here's a little DIY I did a while back. I needed something to put my purse on and wanted to get creative with it so this is what I did:

It was pretty simple. You will need a board, fabric to cover it, tape (or staple gun if you're super awesome), mod podge, paintbrush, hooks, screwdriver.

You cut your fabric to fit the wood, I made sure there was extra on mine to wrap it around the back.

And I ghetto-taped it to the back. Note: It'd probably be easier to use duct tape but I got lazy...

Next pour some modge podge over it (might help to start out with some on the board before you place the fabric down as well).

And you spread it, you spread it!

This is what it looks like all glued-up.

And add some hooks, screw that baby into the wall, and you've got yourself a purse hanger!

Thrifted Luggage, Jackpot!

I went thrifting at one of my favorite spots the other day and spotted these little treasures. The second I saw them, I knew I had to have them. All three were priced $9.99 for the set and had a yellow tag so I got them for 50% off. So $5 for these three beauties, you can't get much better than that!

They were a little dirty so I used some detergent and this fun giraffe brush to clean them off.

Outfit Post

Here's a short little outfit post. This night, my good friend Jackson was in the first regional production of Spring Awakening. It was amazing (of course) and since the lead girl's father produced the original, they got to use the original costumes. So this is what I wore, I just kind of threw it together but I thought it came out cute.

DIY Drawer Necklace Holder

Brandon dug this drawer out of the trash for me along with one other drawer so I could use them in a book shelf but unfortunately this one wasn't wide enough! So it sat around until I figured out what to do with it and then I came up with the idea to screw some knobs in it and use it for a necklace holder!

Here is what I did:

What you'll need:

A drawer

Primer
Paint
Mod Podge
Fabric Scraps

Screwdriver
Glue Gun w/Glue

2 knobs (I bought this pack at Target for like $8)

Instructions:

So first I removed the hardware on the drawer.

Then, I painted the drawer with a coat or two of primer and then a coat of just white paint.

blogged

Next, pick your two pieces of fabric.

blogged

Cut some squares that will fit completely over the top of the knob, around 2" or so

blogged

Round the edges into circles. Plug in your glue gun.

blogged

Next, take your modge podge and pour a little on the tops of the knobs.

blogged

Stick your fabric to it and kind of smooth out.

blogged

Now take your glue gun and you're going to glue down the edges of the fabric to the undersloping part of the knob.

Last, screw back in the hardware and your knobs into place. Now hang you some necklaces!

I'm back from vacation and excited to finally catch up on all my posts! There will be lots of DIY in the near future!
